Not just another thing to read today!
Welcome to the second issue of The Apoio Pulse. Our aim is to bring you intel and spark conversations so that we can all learn and grow as we support NDIS Participants. Feedback from our first edition has shown that our approach is working! Thank you to everyone for responding and getting in touch with us. We hope that this one will too spark some conversations.
A quick education session before we continue:
NDIA - National Disability Insurance Agency
NDIS - National Disability Insurance Scheme
The Agency (NDIA) oversees and manages the Scheme (NDIS)
Now onto some juicier stuff….
Do you know there are specific invoice requirements for providers servicing NDIS participants?
There a lot of misconceptions in the NDIS world about what being a provider entails. This is not just about the ATO status of your ABN but relates to the level of association with the NDIA (Registered or unregistered). We could talk forever about the differences between these BUT that is a rabbit hole for another day.
NDIA Audits though… these are a hot topic!!
We have heard many stories of stressful audits taking place on providers, specifically on Plan Managers. The audits look at claims processed, participant engagement, invoice requirements and payment processes. A common outcome of these audits requires providers to amend old and previously claimed invoices to make them compliant. The invoices might have small things incorrect such as not having the exact support dates listed, only an invoice date.
Did you know that NDIS invoice requirements are slightly different and more extensive than usual ATO requirements?? There are certain things that your NDIS invoice must have. Thankfully we do!
We know there are so many plan managers out there not supporting providers with this, so we have now made it our mission to educate and advise you upfront on the correct and compliant format for NDIS invoicing. If you hear from us, this is why! We honestly just want to help!
The little effort today will potentially save lots of effort in the future!
Have you got some thoughts that you’d like to share? Please email or phone us! We love to chat all things NDIS.
We truly believe that sharing knowledge and information with providers trickles down to better service for the participants!
